Your first week with an AI email assistant: what to expect

The barrier is mostly the not-knowing: what happens when I turn this on? So here's the first week, day by day.

Day 1–2: watching and calibrating

After connecting your inbox (a quarter-hour of work, no tech) the AI starts sorting: customer questions, quote requests, invoices, noise. A draft reply appears under every email. You don't approve anything blindly yet — you watch, adjust, and teach the system your preferences along the way.

Day 3–5: the tipping point

The drafts get visibly better: your tone, your prices, your set phrases show up in them. Approving goes from 'reading everything' to 'scanning and confirming.' The first category — usually the acknowledgments or the invoices — you dare set to automatic.

Day 6–7: the first free evening

The weekend without email debt. The inbox is up to date, the quotes are out, the invoices are with the bookkeeper. Not because you worked harder, but because the work kept running without you. From here it only gets better — the system learns more every day.
